Marv Herzog At The Bavarian Festival

$13.99

Marv Herzog's first recording in 1966 features authentic German folk music. The band is accompanied by a German singing group from Frankenmuth, The Lampliters, and features German songs such as "In Muenchen Stehdt Ein Hofbrauhaus", and "Herz Schmerz" and good festival songs such as "In Heaven There Is No Beer" and Trink, Trink, Bruederlein Trink". Marv was born and raised in Frankenmuth and was the dance band for the first "Bavarian Festival", which was held in the Bavarian Inn Restaurant in 1959 to celebrate a remodeling of the restaurant with a German theme. Marv's was the only band to perform every year thereafter for twenty-five years. The album cover depicts the famous Bavarian Inn Restaurant in Frankenmuth, Michigan, and this album reflects those early years at the Bavarian Festival.
