German-American Oktoberfest

$13.99

Marv Herzog's seventh recording in 1972 highlights the kind of music Marv became famous for: German-American festival folk music. "The Lichtensteiner Polka", "Schwarz Wald Marie" and "In Der Schweitz" give evidence to that. This all German recording again features Wally Loesel on the vocals, lending his wonderful tenor voice to the songs that cause people to "schaukel", just like at the world's largest Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany every September. The album cover depicts Marv and the band at the bar of Carling Brewing Company in Frankenmuth, Michigan. They are Bass Player Dick Hetzner on the left, guitar player Jim Petro, Cordovox player Marv Herzog, lead vocalist Wally Loesel, and drummer Mike Larges.
